Culture
Ordan is commerce-driven. Its people value order, strong infrastructure, and social security. They are the youngest nation in the region and so they look to solidify their place in the world through law enforcement.
Religion
Ordan has no official religion. Organized religion is outlawed. Personal belief is permitted but viewed with suspicion. Religious institutions are seen as dangerous systems for segregation.
Government
The nation has a strong central government that is highly organized and bureaucratic. The main focus of the government is the nations prosperous trade through bureaucratic administation. The nations power thrives, not so much on military power but, on surveillance and access control.
Relations
Ordan is generally resprected for streamlining international trade, though other nations may complain about the burden of their strict regulations.
Besa
Relation: Good
Ordan sees Besa as an obstinantly traditional and therefor somewhat inefficient nation, though they are a reliable trading partner. Besan travelers and traders are common in Ordan and produce from Besa is widely available.
1956 — The Grain Fire of Belenka
A massive fire destroyed Besa's grain stores before winter. Ordan organized emergency
transport of supplies which prevented famine in Besa's rural communities.
Every year, Besa celebrates the event with a festival and sending gifts to Ordan,
many Ordanians families look forward and treasure these gifts.
Thalor
Relation: Good
Ordan values Thalor's fishing economy and maritime knowledge, though discredits its religious customs.
Strigavia
Relation: Uneasy
Ordan finds it difficult to take measure of Strigavia; viewing the nation as secretive and old-fashioned. They treat Strigavia with distrust. Strigavian travelers are not treated as enemies, but they often receive closer inspection.
1949 — The Three Missing Girls
Three Ordanian girls disappeared near the Strigavian border and were later returned
alive by a Strigavian noble family. Strigavia refused to provide details about the
incident, which left Ordan suspicious of Strigavia's activities.
A year later the same three girls ran away from home and were never seen again.
Valdoro
Relation: Tense
Ordan respects Valdoro's sense of duty but strongly distrusts its theocratic structure. Valdorian religious officials are watched carefully, especially if seen in group inside Ordan.
1944 — The Lantern Office Raids
Ordan discovered Valdorian religious offices operating in Odrava and shut
them down overnight. Several priests were arrested, Valdoro remembers the
event as humiliating and an example of religious persecution.
Ordan considers the Valdorian's actions as intrusive and an attempt to undermine Ordan's secular government.
Karsov
Relation: Respectful
Ordan respects Karsov's role as protector of the north-western opening. While Ordan does not share Karsov's martial identity, it recognizes that Karsov's defense allows the entire region to remain stable and safe. Many members fo the Ordanians military and police are of Karsovian origin.
