Thalor is a sea-facing nation with a proud fishing tradition. Its people value hard work, craft and respect for nature and the sea. Fishing families pass down their boats, tools and wisdom across generations. Boats are treated as invaluable family heirlooms and thus well looked after. It is said that some boats that are actively used for fishing, are more than five hundred years old.
Religion
Thalor's religion is called Athalos. It revolves around the sea and the stars and has a hefty pantheon of gods. The ocean provides and the stars divine. The gods are manifestations of great forces, and are often represented as sea creatures, celestial bodies and natural phenomena.
Government
Thalor is ruled by ancient fishing guilds that have grown into powerful political institutions. These guilds control everything related to the fishing economy; routes, markets, and outside trade. Government is decentralised each guild bears responsibility over its own region and has its own election process.
Relations
Thalor is respected for its fishing economy and knowledge of the sea. Older Thalorian guilds have long-standing relationships with other nations, and their elders are considered wise and experienced diplomats.
Ordan
Relation: Good
Thalor depends on Ordan for inland commerce and respects its reliability. Thalorians may find Ordan spiritually empty, but they value their neutrality and diplomacy.
1968 — The Black Net Year
A disastrous fishing season nearly broke Thalor's economy.
Ordan kept trade routes open for emergency food shipments making an exception to their
usual policies.
In addition, they sent invaluable aid in the form of food and medicalsupplies, making
Thalor's dependence on Ordan impossible to ignore.
Karsov
Relation: Respectful
Thalor respects Karsov's protective role and strenght. They might consider Karsovians to be spritually empty, but they recognize the importance of their north-western defense.
Besa
Relation: Good
Thalor sees Besa as a kindred traditional nation, though more land-rooted, their reverence for nature is shared. Both nations distrust large government bodies and favor local autonomy, they believe in the wisdom of spirits of nature.

A disastrous fishing collapse nearly broke Thalor's coastal economy. Besa sent grain
and preserved goods, earning lasting goodwill from Thalorian coastal communities.
The two nations have since maintained a steady trade of food and fishing supplies.
Strigavia
Relation: Distant
Thalor sees Strigavia as ancient, powerful and potentially dangerous. Thalorians prefer to keep Strigavian influence away in fear of the rumors surrounding their occult practices and dealing with dark spirits. But not all Thalorians share these concerns and instead value their trading of recovered artifacts from the ocean.
Valdoro
Relation: Polite
Thalor respects Valdoro's devotion but does not accept their monotheism. The two nations maintain formal relations, though their religious worldviews and customs are very different.
